Dr. Cyril Widdershoven is Senior Advisor at Blue Water Strategy and an internationally recognised expert in maritime strategy, global energy markets, geopolitics, critical infrastructure, and investment risk. With more than 35 years of international experience across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America, he advises governments, multinational corporations, investors, financial institutions, and industry leaders on navigating strategic challenges in an increasingly complex global environment.

His expertise spans maritime and port development, shipping, oil and gas, LNG, commodity markets, supply chains, critical infrastructure, defence, and geopolitical risk. Cyril supports boards and executive leadership teams in translating geopolitical developments and market disruption into commercially sound strategies, investment decisions, and long-term competitive advantage.

Before joining Blue Water Strategy, Cyril held senior international leadership positions with Deloitte, Capgemini, TNO, and Verocy, leading complex advisory programmes across the global energy, infrastructure, technology, and industrial sectors. He is widely recognised for his independent market intelligence, strategic foresight, and ability to connect geopolitics, energy, maritime, finance, and technology into practical, board-level advice.
